This course is designed to offer the fundamentals of Mindfulness, as well as ample opportunity to practice. Open to all levels; come learn or deepen your existing practice.
So much of our lives are spent focusing on the past and worrying about the future that we are often unaware of what is happening in the present moment. When our thoughts and feelings distract us from being in the here and now, we miss opportunities to genuinely connect with ourselves and each other, and to live life to the fullest. In this 4-week series, you will learn Mindfulness tools and practices for bringing greater peace, well-being, and balance into your life. Each class will include a guided practice session.
Topics covered include:
- Mindfulness of the Body
- Mindful Listening
- Mindful Breathing
- STOP practice
- Understanding how the Brain affects stress and wellness
- Mindful Communicating
Course Instructors: Ian Hoge, M.A. Clinical Psych. and Jennifer Waldburger, MSW. Ian and Jennifer are co-directors of the Mindfulness Program for administrators, teachers, children and parents at the Stephen Wise School.
